About the Digital Fool

Hello out there and welcome to Digital Fool.

I wanted to jot down a few thoughts so people know why I started this blog – I am sure it is a story that will ring true with many of you.

I am nearing a significant milestone birthday (aren’t we all) and have been involved in the media and entertainment industry in one way or another for the past decade. I love playing with the latest and greatest gadgets and I sometimes get my hands on tech before it hits the mainstream market.

Unsurprisingly, my interest means I am still the ‘go-to geek’ for most of my friends:  Wifi not working? That’s OK, we’ll ask the Fool to fix it. Lost an important file for work? No problem, I can just call the Fool. Forgot how to speak Android?  Call the Fool.  It’s frustrating to say the least, especially when I would much rather be setting up my latest gadget purchase. (Next up: MacBook Air?)

So, this blog will be a place for me to air my grievances on gadgets and entertainment (and my free loading friends) and generally opine and hopefully – just maybe – get the entertainment and technology industries that I love to hate, or hate to love, or whatever – to see that things are too complicated. (Anybody listening?)

I hope (eventually) to inspire some answers to the frustrations that get expressed on the blog.  I really want people to tell their stories about what gets them stuck with their technology and what really annoys them.  Maybe we can get some help – and selfishly, I can get back to geeking out with my gadgets.
